Terms of use for Open AssayIndex: what the site is, what it is not, permitted use of the dataset, and the limitation of liability.
1. What this site is
Open AssayIndex is an independent, non-commercial index of third-party analytical results for research chemicals. It sells nothing, brokers nothing and takes no payment from any supplier named on it. Using the site means accepting these terms.
2. No advice, no warranty, no fitness
Open AssayIndex is an independent analytical index. It sells nothing, it is not affiliated with any manufacturer, pharmacy, laboratory or supplier named on it, and it accepts no payment from suppliers. Every compound catalogued here is a research chemical. Research-use-only compounds are not approved for human or veterinary use in any jurisdiction, and several are prohibited in competitive sport. Nothing on this site is medical advice, a diagnosis, a treatment recommendation, a safety assessment, or a statement that any material is fit for any purpose. Analytical results describe one sample of one lot at one point in time, as measured by one laboratory using one method, and they generalise no further than that.
3. Accuracy
The index transcribes and normalises results reported by third-party laboratories. It does not audit them, does not witness the assays, and cannot verify that the vial assayed is representative of the lot it came from. Every record describes one sample, one lot, one laboratory, one method and one point in time. Known limitations are stated on the methodology page and errors are logged on the corrections page.
4. Permitted use of the dataset
The dataset is licensed CC BY 4.0. See the licence page. The Open AssayIndex name and mark are not covered by that licence and may not be used to imply endorsement.
5. Third-party names
Supplier and laboratory names, trading names and domains appear as factual identifiers so that records can be attributed. They belong to their owners. Their appearance implies no affiliation, endorsement or commercial relationship in either direction. Each scorecard links the supplier’s own storefront, marked nofollow and sponsored, so a record can be checked against its source; the index takes no supplier payment for placement.
6. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, the index accepts no liability for any loss or damage arising from use of, or reliance on, anything published here — including any decision to buy, not buy, use or not use any material. Nothing here is a safety assessment.
7. Changes
These terms may change. Material changes are noted on the corrections log like everything else.
