BPC-157
Body Protection Compound 157 · PL 14736 · bepecin · C62H98N16O22 · monoisotopic 1418.7093 Da. The index holds 591 assay reports on this compound across 94 batches from 19 suppliers.
Analytical fingerprint
Hand-authored chemistry. These properties describe the substance and do not change when a record is added.
BPC-157 is the index's second-highest-volume compound and its easiest high-volume assay. Fifteen residues, no oxidisable side chains, and a clean early elution at 9.6 min mean inter-lab agreement is excellent (limits of agreement ±0.22 pp) and the purity distribution is tight and high — index median 98.9 %, IQR 0.6 pp. Two consequences. First, a BPC-157 report below 97 % is a genuine outlier and usually reflects an incomplete final coupling, visible as the −57 Da des-Gly species. Second, because purity is uninformative at the top of the range, the discriminating measurements for BPC-157 are peptide content and water: the spread in mg-per-vial recovery across suppliers is far wider than the spread in purity, and the supplier scorecards weight it accordingly.

Representative chromatogram
Drawn from this page's own medians. Not a scan, not an illustration, and not any single report.
What the index has observed
Arithmetic over the 591 records the index holds. Aggregates on this page are computed over the records the index holds, which are not a random sample of the material on the market. Lots that get tested are lots someone chose to test. Read every figure here as a description of this dataset rather than as an estimate of a population.
By supplier
Suppliers with fewer than two purity records on this compound are omitted from the figure rather than drawn as a line. The full table, including the thin cells, is on the by-supplier page.
Characteristic impurities and degradants
The left three columns are authored chemistry — what this molecule characteristically carries and where it elutes. The right three are what the index has actually reported.

- Asp-Gly aspartimide during synthesis
- oxidative degradation is negligible — no Met, no Cys, no Trp

Clinical context
Included because it is routinely misapplied. Trial data describes a licensed medicinal product manufactured under a marketing authorisation, and it does not transfer to research-grade material of unknown provenance.
BPC-157 has no completed human efficacy trial in any indication; the published literature is overwhelmingly rodent. It was added to WADA's prohibited list in 2022. The index makes no claim about effect.
